Letter to Trish

A reply in comic-form to a letter from a friend, sent a few months ago when it seemed that I was gonna be unemployed real soon

More Murabast

the Ottoman Empire, the Sultan would often lock up members of his family so they wouldn't threaten him.
This meant that new Sultans were often oddballs with absolutely no life experience...

Pretty Good With Words

Um, this is about a job I used to have, and somebody I worked with.
I've used a line from 'Stuck Between Stations' by the Hold Steady to sum up the situation.

Autumn Musings

The scene in question was filmed in a place called Ejin Banner in inner Mongolia.
The trees are called Euphrates poplars. I was delighted to find that it was a real place, and not CGI!

Giant Anemone

Another nonsense sketch from my south Wales days.
Was learning about rocky shore ecology for work- obviously I had sea creatures on my mind.
This is the bathroom I had at the time- I remember it was as cold as the Arctic.

Dune and Gloom

Sketch from way back in February 2011, when I was in Wales learning about sand dunes.
Must have been pissed about something that day. Note the misspelling of 'chough'!

The October Country

This is essentially true. Autumn always reminds me of Bradbury.
The top-left panel contains elements of my room in Yorkshire.

Coffee Shop

A line from 'Hold On' by Tom Waits (who else?) It's true, of course.
